The Historic Farmers' Market at Keith's Brewery Building on 1496 Lower Water Street celebrated the 265th anniversary in 2015 of a continuously operating farmers' market in Halifax. Founded in 1750 by Royal Proclamation, the Historic Farmers' Market is open year-round every Saturday from 7 to 1.

The Halifax Regional Council presented this Certificate of Recognition to the Halifax Farmers' Market on the occasion of its 260th anniversary, acknowledging it as the oldest continuously running farmers' market in North America. The certificate reminds us of the contribution to the local economy made by generations of farmers and artisans into the present.
