Tom Creighton in 1915 used this claim post to claim the Flin Flon Lake Ore Body. This was the first ore claim in the area and turned out to be one of the richest mineral finds in Canadian history. It led to the construction of the largest copper mine in Manitoba as well as the establishment of Creighton, Saskatchewan. This artifact is on display at the Royal North West Police Post Museum in Creighton, Saskatchewan.
